Ready to kick your gift registry up a notch? Transferring your William Sonoma registry to Joy means simplifying your gift management. Joy will swoop in and transfer all your listed William Sonoma items to the Joy site, allowing you to add, update, remove, and track items inside your Joy website.
Getting started
- From the Registry page, click the ‘Gifts’ tab.
- Under the External Registry section, click ‘Connect a Registry’ and select William Sonoma.
- Add your William Sonoma registry link and click ‘Get Started.’
- While Joy connects to William Sonoma, take a moment to perfect your surprised look for the inevitable quirky gift from great-aunt Clara. Her presents are always one-of-a-kind!
- Click ‘Next’ then ‘Move Registry to Joy.’
- And just like that, your William Sonoma registry is now transferred to Joy!
Turning your external William Sonoma registry off
You’ve successfully transferred all your registry items to Joy – fantastic! But to avoid getting double the gifts (imagine two S’mores makers!), there’s one crucial step that must happen: turn off your William Sonoma registry on their website.
- While logged into your William Sonoma account, go here.
- Click on ‘Manage My Registry’ and then ‘Edit Registry.’
- Tap ‘Edit’ next to ‘Optional settings’ then select ‘Private’ from the dropdown.
- Click ‘Update Registry’ and you’ll be all set.
Adding an item from William Sonoma post-transfer
Now, let’s say you’re scrolling through the Williams Sonoma website post-transfer, and suddenly, you discover a s’mores maker that screams “summer party time!” Instead of adding it to your Williams Sonoma registry, you’ll need to add it directly to Joy, and then you can start planning your ultimate s’mores extravaganza!
There are 2 ways to do this:
Using the Quick Add Button
- Add the Quick Add Button to your browser bar (you can learn how here).
- Find that new must-have item.
- Click ‘Add to Joy’ in your bookmarks bar and then ‘Add Gift.’
- Tap ‘Go to registry’ to view the new item on your Registry page.
Manually adding the item
- Copy the William Sonoma URL for the item.
- While on the ‘Gifts’ tab, scroll down, and click the ‘New Gift’ button.
- Select “Add Item”
- Paste the item URL and tap the ‘Add Gift’ button.
- Scroll down for a glimpse of your future S’mores maker.
Ta-da! Your William Sonoma registry is now part of the Joy family. Managing gifts has never been easier!
