Ready to kick your gift registry up a notch? Transferring your Amazon registry to Joy means simplifying your gift management. Joy will swoop in and transfer all your listed Amazon items to the Joy site, allowing you to add, update, remove, and track items inside your Joy website.
Getting started
- From the Registry page, click the ‘Gifts’ tab.
- Under the External Registry section, click ‘Connect a Registry’ and select Amazon.
- Add your Amazon registry link and click ‘Get Started.’
- While Joy connects to Amazon, take a moment to perfect your surprised look for the inevitable quirky gift from great-aunt Clara. Her presents are always one-of-a-kind!
- Click ‘Next’ then ‘Move Registry to Joy.’
- And just like that, your Amazon registry is now transferred to Joy!
Turning your external Amazon registry off
Congratulations on moving your entire Amazon registry to Joy! To ensure a seamless gift-giving experience (like not receiving duplicate dual omelet waffle makers), it’s crucial to turn your Amazon registry off on their website.
- While logged into your Amazon account, go here.
- Click on ‘Your registry.’
- Select ‘Private’ from the dropdown next to ‘Your registry is.’
- And that’s it, your Amazon registry is private so you’ll avoid those duplicate gifts.
Adding an item from Amazon post-transfer
Imagine you’re perusing the Amazon website after transferring your registry to Joy, and you spot a dual waffle and omelet maker perfect for lazy weekend mornings. Instead of adding it to your Amazon registry, you’ll need to add it directly to Joy.
There are 2 ways to do this:
Using the Quick Add Button
- Add the Quick Add Button to your browser bar (you can learn how here).
- Find that new must-have item.
- Click ‘Add to Joy’ in your bookmarks bar.
- If given the option, select a photo and click ‘Add Gift.’
- Tap ‘Go to registry’ to view the new item on your Registry page.
Manually adding the item
- Copy the Amazon URL for the item.
- While on the ‘Gifts’ tab, scroll down and you’ll see a section ‘Continue adding from Amazon’
- Add the item URL and tap the ‘Add Gift’ button.
- Scroll down for a glimpse of your future dual waffle and omelet maker.
Ta-da! Your Amazon registry is now part of the Joy family. Managing gifts has never been easier!
