Your cash gifts and physical gifts will display side by side on your Joy registry, in the order that you set them up.
When your guests click on a honeymoon fund or cash fund, a window will pop up. Here your guests are allowed to choose the gift amount they would like to give. We ask them for their name and email so that you will know who to thank.
When they click “Reserve & Purchase”, we will open the payment account you’ve linked in a new tab, where they can contribute directly.
When they close the tab, they will see a confirmation screen on the Joy page.
Here they have the option to close the screen and continue on your website, or “Undo” their gift reservation. When this happens, we will not mark the gift as purchased.
In order to send a cash gift through PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App, your guests will need an account on that service. This is separate from a Joy account.
If your guest has linked their cash sharing app with their bank account, there will be 0 fees.
Your guests can also pay via credit card on these three services. However, all three services charge a fee for sending money using a credit card. PayPal charges a 2.9% fee, while both Venmo and Cash App charge a 3% fee.
