How Do Guests Contribute to Our Honeymoon Funds?

Your cash gifts and physical gifts will display side by side on your Joy registry, in the order that you set them up.

When your guests click on a honeymoon fund or cash fund, a window will pop up. Here your guests are allowed to choose the gift amount they would like to give. We ask them for their name and email so that you will know who to thank.

When your guest clicks on “Reserve & Give”, they will be directed to a page where they’ll then need to click on Send Gift on CashApp/Paypal, or they will see your Venmo information. Once they click on the button to send the gift they’ll be directed to either CashApp or Paypal to make the contribution. If you’ve added your Venmo information they’ll need to open their Venmo app to make the contribution.

Here they also have the option to “Cancel Reservation.” When this happens, we will not mark the gift as purchased.

As long as your guests complete the transaction the money will be instantly deposited into your Venmo, PayPal, or CashApp account. If you don’t see the money in your account, it’s most likely your guest(s) didn’t complete the transaction.

In order to send a cash gift through PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App, your guests will need an account on that service. This is separate from a Joy account.

If your guest has linked their cash sharing app with their bank account, there will be 0 fees.

Your guests can also pay via credit card on these three services. However, all three services charge a fee for sending money using a credit card. PayPal charges a 2.9% fee, while both Venmo and Cash App charge a 3% fee.
