Those pesky credit card fees? They vanish into thin air too. Why? Because your cash gifts ride on the wave of cash-sharing services like PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App.
However, there’s a little twist you should be aware of. While PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App don’t charge fees for standard bank transfers (which usually take 1-3 business days), they do apply a fee for Instant Deposits or Transfers. Here’s the scoop:
- For guests, these apps allow hassle-free money sending, as long as they’ve linked their app to a bank account.
- PayPal offers complimentary standard transfers to your bank account and Instant Transfers. Standard transfers usually arrive in about 1 business day, but the exact timing depends on your bank’s processes. Instant Deposits are speedy, landing in just 30 minutes, but they come with a 1% fee. PayPal also has conversion fees for international transactions.
- Venmo provides complimentary standard transfers to your bank account, and Instant Transfers are an option. Standard transfers take 1-3 business days, while Instant Deposits involve a 1% fee.
- Cash App delivers free standard deposits to your bank account and Instant Deposits to your linked debit card. Standard deposits typically arrive within 1-3 business days, while Instant Deposits have a 1.5% fee but are lightning-fast.
