Use Joy for Photos Only

Leaving disposable cameras on every table used to be considered an ingenious way to let guests capture their own moments on your big day. But let’s be honest, they mess with your tablescape, the cameras break after a single picture is taken, and the thought of lugging all of the film to your local drug store to get developed is enough to make sure they never come out of your storage closet.

So use Joy to collect your memories instead.

Our photo-collection feature can be used even if you choose to forego every other section of Joy. Simply go through the same process of creating a wedding and setting up your couple profile. Guests will then be able to take pictures on their phones throughout the wedding and upload them to your Memories timeline, saving all of your pictures to a central location that can be viewed at any time.

Once you navigate to your admin dashboard by clicking “Edit My Wedding,” remove all sections by locating your Settings Page, then the Menu tab. This will bring up a page where you can enable or disable pages on your website and app at any time. Click on each page title, toggle the “Show page in menu” switch off, then Update. Don’t forget to click the Save button. If you disable all of these, the result will be a simple, minimalist app with your names, greeting, cover photo, and countdown. Although “Guest List” and “Invites” will be seen on your dashboard, don’t feel obligated to use these tools. It won’t affect how your wedding appears to Guests.

Also, don’t forget to specify in your invitations to guests why you’re having them download the app!
