The Event Countdown is almost as important as your cover photo or event greeting and can be a fun visualization for both you and your guests. You can find it by scrolling down the Welcome page on your mobile app, or under the location and date on your website.
The date and time to which it counts down to, is determined by your Event Date that you have set in Settings.
When you first created your website, you were asked to provide a date that would be displayed on your website and app (which you can now hide if you choose to). By default, this is the date used for your countdown with a default time of 4:00 PM of your timezone. However, a wedding is not necessarily a simple affair and we realize you might want to count down to the specific start time of one of your events. That’s why we’ve also incorporated an additional feature that allows you to adjust the countdown to the specific event of your choice. For example, if your wedding ceremony is on Saturday at 2:00 pm, but the majority of your guests won’t arrive until the dinner at 6:00 pm, you can select your “Reception” event, and your countdown will be based off the exact start time of the reception in your schedule.
Note: Please be aware that the Event Date and the selected countdown time are related, so if you update the Event Date, your countdown will be automatically updated, and vice versa. If you select a specific event for the countdown, the Event Date will be updated to the same date as the event you selected for your countdown.

In Settings, on the ‘General’ tab, you will see the ‘Event Countdown’ section about half way down the page. From there, you can decide whether you want to toggle your countdown on or off:
Please note that your Event date must be also be “shown” on your site in order to be able to use the countdown. In other words, if you have chosen to hide your date, and the date is toggled “off” then you won’t be able to use the countdown.
To set the time and date for your countdown, you can either directly update the Event date, and the countdown will update to that date at 4 pm, or you can choose the specific event that you want to set the countdown to, (for example, Wedding Ceremony, Wedding Reception, After-Party, etc etc) from the drop-down:
If you want to edit the time of the selected event, you will need to do that from your Schedule page. On the Schedule page, click on the event that you want to edit.
On the next page, you’ll need to scroll down to the ‘Date and Time’ section, where you can customize the start and end time. Once you click on ‘Start Time,’ a clock will open up where you can adjust the start time of the event. The same process will apply for editing the end time of the event, however the start time gets applied to the countdown. Be sure to click Save, on the top right, once you have edited the start and end dates and times for your event!
Once you have selected an event for your Event Countdown, you will also notice that the time associated with the event you have chosen will update as well:
Be sure to click Save on the Settings page in order to save the changes to your countdown!
Note: Remember, that the Event Date and the selected countdown time are related, so if you update the Event Date, your countdown will automatically update, and vice versa, if you select a specific event for the countdown, the Event Date will also change simultaneously.
