I Changed My Joy Url After Connecting My Domain – Now What?

Change is in the air, and you’re jazzing up your Joy website with a brand-new URL – a digital makeover extravaganza…exciting stuff! But wait, what about your trusty custom domain? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. When you change your Joy URL, you’ll need to update your custom domain settings. Let’s dive into how you can update your domain connection to match your snazzy new Joy URL.

Here’s the game plan if you purchased your domain by clicking the link on the Settings Page:

  • Log in to the account where you purchased your domain (right here).
  • Under the ‘Domains’ section, give those three dots in the upper right-hand corner a friendly tap.
  • Click on the ‘Manage DNS’ option.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where the ‘Forwarding’ section waits patiently, and click the pencil icon next to your domain.
  • Here, you’ll see your previous, original Joy URL. Tap in the field to add your snazzy new URL.

Be sure you’ve checked “Permanent” and not “Forward with Masking.” Joy can connect to a custom domain through forwarding. That means when your guests visit your custom domain (say, jacklovesjill.com), they’ll be directed to your Joy website, and withjoy.com/jacklovesjill will be the URL they see. We don’t support forwarding with masking, so your custom domain will be the visible URL.

Easy-peasy, right?” 🚀🌟
