Connecting a Domain Name You Purchased Somewhere Else to Your Wedding Website

So, you’ve got this snazzy custom domain, right? Great choice! Now, connecting it to your Joy wedding website is a piece of digital cake, no matter where you found it. If you didn’t grab it with a simple click on your Joy Settings Page (high-five to those who did!), don’t fret. It’s as easy as pie.

All you have to do is log in to the provider where you bought your domain to set up forwarding. Sadly, that’s a task managed exclusively by your domain provider, and the friendly folks at Joy Customer Service don’t have access, however, we’ve scoured the world wide web and created some handy guides for redirecting from common domain providers.

And if your domain provider isn’t on the above list, don’t fret; just channel your inner Sherlock and search online for ‘Your Domain Provider’s Name Website Forwarding,’ and the instructions should magically appear in your search results.

Now, if you happen to be the proud owner of a domain purchased by clicking the link on your Joy Settings Page, click here for step-by-step directions for connecting it to your website.

Just so you know, Joy can connect to a custom domain through forwarding. That means when your guests visit your custom domain (say, jacklovesjill.com), they’ll be directed to your Joy website, and withjoy.com/jacklovesjill will be the URL they see. We don’t support forwarding with masking, so your custom domain will be the visible URL.
