We all know that plans change, and at some point you may have to update the date of your wedding, if you’re ever faced with some unexpected changes. Or maybe you just weren’t sure of your wedding or event date when you first created your site, and now you have finalized your date. Whatever the case is, it’s very easy to change the date on your Joy website, and here’s a step-by-step guide to help you make that change.
Head over to your ‘Settings’ page from the admin dashboard. From here, you will land on the ‘General’ tab (and you should stay on that tab). In the middle of the page, you will see the ‘Event Info,’ where you can update your event date to whatever you choose. When you click on the date inside the box, a calendar will open up where you can select the month, day and year of your choice. Once you are happy with your changes, be sure to click on the ‘Save‘ button on the upper right side of the page!
The Date on the ‘General’ tab in Settings is the date that will show on the Welcome page of your website, mobile site, and mobile app, and it will also appear on your RSVP and eCards and emails.
Please also note, that if you have your Event Countdown turned on, when you update your Date, the countdown will also update, as they are linked. Separately, you will also want to ensure that you update any applicable dates on your Schedule page. For example, you will want to update the dates for your ceremony, reception, after-party etc, to make sure that they align with the main date on your website:
To edit those dates, simply click on the event. This will open a page where you can update all of the event details, and in the middle of the page, you will see where you can edit the event times and dates, (start date, start time, end date and end time). If you want, you can also select the “To be announced” option, and that will hide the date and time from this event, if your plans are not finalized yet. Or you can also choose the “Hide end time” option, which will show the start time for the event (and not the end time).
Be sure to click on the ‘Save‘ button on the upper right side of the schedule page to make sure those changes are saved as well!
