Adding and Removing Guest List Labels

Adding Guest List Labels

With Joy’s guest list labels, it’s super easy to place your guests into various categories to help organize your big day. Whether you’re assigning seating arrangements or delegating certain tasks to your wedding party we’ve got you covered.

First, start by selecting the guests you wish to add a label to. Once you’ve selected a guest or guests, click on the Assign Label tab on your Guest List toolbar.

From here you’ll be able to add one or multiple tags from Joy’s curated tag list.

Don’t see the tag option you want? You can easily create and add your own tags. Just click on “Add / Edit Guest Labels” and then type in the tag you want to create and click on Add. You can then select your custom tag to add to your guests. Want to search your guests by label? Just click directly on a label given in the guest list and it will automatically be added to the search bar.

Removing Guest List Labels

Now, say you changed your mind and you want to remove a label from a guest (or guests), all you need to do is select the guest (or multiple guests with the same label) on the guest list:

Then click on Assign Label on the guest list toolbar like above, and click on the blue highlighted label that you want to remove:

When you click on that label, it will turn grey again and that means that label is no longer assigned to those guests.

Labels and Private Events

With our Private Events feature, you can choose to hide or show certain events to specific guests using labels. Let’s say you only wanted to invite a few guests to your Rehearsal Dinner, you would assign those specific guests the Rehearsal Dinner label, then head over to your Schedule page, (from your admin dashboard), and set the event to private, only to be seen by certain guests with that label. Using the audience selector, you can use the Rehearsal Dinner label to invite certain guests to the Rehearsal Dinner:

You can learn more about setting up private events with labels in our private events help article. We hope you enjoy this feature!
